During the recent Physical Oceanography Encounter 2024 (EOF 2024) in Valencia on July 10-12, we presented the latest project outcomes and fostered collaborations with the scientific community. The EOF is a significant opportunity for the Spanish Physical Oceanography community at both national and international levels.
On July 11th, we showcased advancements in our study of coastal current convergence structures in the southeastern Bay of Biscay. These structures play a crucial role in the accumulation and transport of floating marine litter. Our scientific publication, “Coastal current Convergence structures in the Bay of Biscay from optimized high-frequency radar and satellite data”, is available in the outcomes section and also here.
Additionally, on July 12th, we introduced our LAMARCA project during the “Scientific Collaborative Opportunities” session. We discussed the past and ongoing BOBLIT campaigns and explored future collaboration possibilities related to the LAMARCA tool and scientific positions within the project. This event provided an excellent opportunity to establish synergies and expand our valuable network of collaborations
